Saving Our Water Resources: What should we do?

Find out how much land is irrigated by the river water in your local area. Find out the causes for the pollution of that river, what are the industries on the river banks, what are the products manufactured in these industries, what are the effluents released into the river and prepare a chart. Find out what the managements of these industries are doing with regard to the treatment of effluents released. Find out how the industries are treating the solid wastes generated in the production process. Conduct a meeting highlighting the importance of rivers, utility of river waters and the rivers contribution to increasing agricultural production especially by following eco-friendly irrigation practices. The disadvantages of over exploitation and misuse of the river waters should be explained. Conduct a camp highlighting the problems that arise due to polluted water. Conduct meetings, discussions, seminars and competitions on water use and water conservation. Conduct seminars and discussions on the issue of coastal area development.
