Just make a note of the number of people who board buses and trains in the bus stand/railway station on a single day. Talk to the sanitary workers at bus stands and railway stations and ask them how much garbage is generated per day and how they are disposing it off. Try making the task of removing garbage easier. In order to make the collection of garbage easier, request shop keepers to place waste bins in their premises and also put up messages and sign boards asking the passengers to dispose of the wastes in proper manner in bins only. Organise a meeting between the sanitary workers and the management of the railway station and bus station. A futuristic approach to waste management should be evolved and adopted taking into account the local needs.
